Meter Itself:Very impressive build quality, not as good as a Fluke Megger but a lot better that anything else I have seen in this price range.The display is nice and big with both Analog and digital readouts. Everything is pretty clearly labeled and the backlight is bright.It can produce 100-2500Vdc for testing insulation leaks.Nice simple Test button and Timer button. I will explain the use below.It also has a built in Auto Ranging Voltmeter for AC/DC voltage. The AC voltage is very accurate but the DC readings are not all that accurate. It can be used as an OHM meter and a continuity tester. It also seems to have the ability to store readings in memory.It has a built in DAR test mode (Dielectric Absorption Ration). I have never used that before but I believe it tests for moisture inside enclosures.The case and Leads for the Meter are not bad. About my only gripe is that the Alligator clips inserts are not as secure on the leads as I would like.I have another Kaiweets volt meter and it has lasted for awhile and endured abuse. This one has the same good build quality so I think it will also last.Operation Usage:This Insulation meter works the same as the rest. High voltage with low current limit is passed down a wire and if there are any insulation issues like cracks or cuts that are allowing water or moisture to get into the wire, it will pick up the voltage being leaked to the wire connected to the other lead.The meter uses the standard 1 minute test and has a built in timer to perform the test. After 1 minute it then shuts off the high voltage. If you have used one of these then yes It is the same 100Mohm for 1 minute of testing for typical 200A utility mains wires. Anything below 100Mohm requires Finding/Replacing the bad wire. Connect leads to open ended Neutral wire and one open ended phase wire with both running down the same conduit. Select Voltage level then Press Timer button then with nothing shorting or connected on both ends of the wire and they are clear from anyone touching them Press the Test button and it will countdown one minute while it tests the resistance. The way it operates is that simple.Note that other kinds of wires and tests have their own requirements, hence why it goes to 200Gohm.I think other reviewers have mentioned this. It uses high voltage but the current is limited to a low value so it won't kill you but it can give you a big shock like a cattle fence if you touch those leads while they are activated.Over happy with it and the accuracy which I tested with the input resistance of a Fluke 87V meter which read 10Mohm as expected. I also like the fact that it has other functions built into the Kaiweets.

This provides me with a lot of versatility to test motors, HVAC components, and general electrical items. Very useful to have! The display is easy to read, and the controls are intuitive. This is a great battery operated multi functional voltage tool and I replaced an older model I had that got wet and this is a big upgrade, especially since it goes up to 2000V where my old only went up to 1000 however it looks like the leads are only rated to 1000.This does take regular batteries so there is a risk of them exploding if not stored at the right temperature but if has no effect on the use.It is super easy to use and has the option to attach the clips as well. The price point is also lower than some of the name brands but with the same features.
